Entry into force notes

The Regional Act enters into force on the day after its publication on the Bollettino Ufficiale della Regione.

Abstract

The Regional Act, which consists of five Titles, lays down rules on hunting and wild fauna protection, having particular regard to the protected species listed in article 2, paragraph 1a), b) and c) of Act No. 157 of 1992. For this purpose, the Region shall draw up programmes intended for the sustainable use of natural resources and for the maintenance of ecological balance. The Region shall promote research and surveys on wild fauna as well. The regional authority shall exercise administrative functions related to surveillance, coordination and planning. Article 2 provides for the establishment of the Regional Advisory Council on Fauna and Hunting (CFUR). Title II regulates fauna and hunting planning. Within three months from the entry into force of this Act, the Provinces, upon advice of recognized hunting associations, shall prepare fauna protection and hunting plans. The plans shall take account of: a) wild fauna protected areas; b) repopulation and catch areas; c) public and private centres for wild fauna reproduction. Article 7 establishes the Regional Observatory for Fauna (under the regional authority) as well as the Provincial Observatory for Fauna (under the provincial authority).
