These include: a) the improvement of fish, agricultural and animal products; b) the encouragement of investments on techniques and installations in order to contribute to the conservation of the environment and the protection of farmers' as well as consumers' health. Article 2 specifies the cooperatives which may participate in the benefits provided for by article 4. Article 3 lists the different types of intervention, such as the creation of new cooperatives, the restructuring and the improvement of installations, the development of formative programmes and research.
