The perimeter of the Park is delineated by the planimetries attached and shall include the adjacent sea as well (in compliance with article 2, paragraph 2 of Act No. 394 of 6 December 1991). The Regional Nature Park of Portovenere is therefore inserted into the regional system of protected areas for the following purposes: a) conservation of the environment; b) promotion of knowledge of natural characteristics of the area; c) protection of the adjacent sea. The management of the Park is entrusted to the Commune of Portovenere (art. 3), which shall provide for the achievement of the above-mentioned purposes by using the Protected Area Plan and the Socio-Economic Plan referred to in article 16 of Act No. 394 of 1991.
