At the same time it promotes economic activities related to forestry. Article 3 lays down the definition of forest, so as to clearly establish the application scope. The Act establishes the framework concerning authorizations which may be issued by local authorities, administrative functions, giving particular regard to the protection of forests against fires and biodiversity preservation. Article 7 deals with the regional forest inventory and provides for the creation of an information system. Article 14 makes provision on forestry planting material. Article 17 promotes the setting up of forest consortia. Article 24 lays down administrative sanctions.
