Abstract This Regional Act has been enacted to implement the provisions contained in Act No. 221 of 2002, which has supplemented Act No. 157 of 1992 with respect to those derogations that are allowed (under Directive 79/409/EEC) when bird protection measures are applied. The Regional Counsel for Environmental Protection shall be responsible for the establishment of the periods during which birds may be hunted as well as related spcies, total allowable catches and hunting methods (art. 2).
