Abstract

This Regional Act lays down particular amendments to Regional Act No. 29 of 1997 for the purpose of further developing and enhancing the forms of protection of the environment and improving the management of protected areas. Articles 1, 2 and 3 to that Regional Act, defining the fundamental principles, aims and objectives to be attained respectively, are replaced by the provisions laid down in article 2, paragraphs 2, 3 and 4 hereto. Article 5 relating to the system of protected areas in the Lazio Region is replaced by article 1 (5) hereto. The new article refers to the setting up of protected areas of a national and interregional character. Article 3 of this Regional Act lays down amendments to articles 4, 6, 7, 10, 14, 23, 24, 26, 27 and 40 of Regional Act No. 29 of 1997. These amendments are concerned with the institutions in charge of the management and protection of protected areas.
