Recommendation on Conservation and Management Measures for Mackerel in the NEAFC Regulatory Area for 2024.

This measure stipulates that the total catches of mackerel in 2024 should not exceed 739,386 tonnes, based on advice from ICES, with each contracting party required to establish conservation measures, including catch limits, for their mackerel fishery in the NEAFC Regulatory Area. Participation in the fishery is restricted to vessels authorized by relevant authorities and entitled to fly the flag of a NEAFC contracting party, with each party obligated to notify their implemented measures to the Secretary by May 1, 2024.
