Abstract

The present Act lays down provisions relating to the protection of the people against radiation. Article 1 of the present Act establishes that in order to protect the population the: 1) radioactivity in the environment shall have to be monitored; 2) the exposure of people to radiation and radioactive contamination of the environment shall be kept as low as possible. The text consists of 218 articles divided into 8 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Radiation protection for planned exposure situations (2); Radiation protection in emergency situations (3); Radiation protection in existing exposure situations (4); Overarching provisions on exposure situations (5); Radiation protection supervision, administrative procedures (6); Administrative bodies (7); Final provisions (8).
