Abstract

The present Regulations are made under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the protection of the population from the release of polychlorinated dibenzo-para- dioxins and polychlorinated dibenzofurans in effluents from pulp and paper mills. Section 3 establishes that the owner of a mill shall ensure that the responsible operates the mill in accordance with these Regulations. The text consists of 9 sections and 2 Schedules.
