Abstract This Programme, based on the provisions of the Montenegrin Veterinary Law, sets out mandatory animal health measures for the year 2021. Animal health protection is carried out in order to ensure: breeding and production of healthy animals, safe and health products of animal origin and animal feed, protection of people from zoonoses, protection of animal welfare, including environmental protection issues. The Programme of obligatory animal health protection measures determines preventive measures aimed to monitor, prevent, detect, control and eradicate infectious and parasitic diseases, including other related actions such as manner of providing and using funds, manner of control, manner of reporting, as well as specific conditions for their implementation. Implementation of measures is mandatory in the entire epizootiological area of Montenegro, appropriate to the degree of danger and epizootiological situation from the previous period.
