To this end, this manual sets out the responsibility for scaling, log identification and scaling method, recording of information by the scaler, control by the provincial forestry officers including log scaling record sheets, declaration of logs harvested and royalty self-assessment, and scaling checks by the PNGFA Project Supervisors. Furthermore, codes for PNG commercial tree species and formulas for calculating log volumes are annexed to this manual.
