Presidential Decree No. 308 establishing health and veterinary inspection conditions related to intra-Community trade in certain animals species, in compliance with Council Directives 64/432/EEC and 72/462/EEC.

Entry into force notes
The Decree shall enter into force on 1 July 1999 except for the provisions of articles 13 (paragraphs 6, 7, 8, 9 – registration and approval number of dealers), 15 (infringements) and 29 (frontier and inspection posts) which shall enter into force on the day of publication in the Official Gazette.
Abstract

With the present Decree are establishing health and veterinary inspection conditions related to intra-Community trade in certain animals species. The Decree consists of 32 articles, divided into two parts: Part A (articles 1-18) lays down the veterinary conditions related to intra-Community trade in bovine animals and swine (except from wild pigs) as defined by the provisions of Presidential Decree No. 707/1982 and without prejudice to the provisions of Presidential Decrees Nos. 36/1987, 316/1990, 36/1992, 420/1993 (Part B), 218/1992, 243/1993, 420/1993 (Part D), 344/1997, 84/1995, 138/1995 and the Decision 90/424/ΕEC of the Council. Article 3 allows intra-Community trade only for bovine animals and swine which fulfil the general conditions laid down by the present Decree. In Part B (articles 19-31) of the Decree are determined the health and veterinary conditions which shall apply to imports from third countries of bovine animals, swine, sheep and goats in conformity to the directive 72/462/EEC, at the part that concerns only living animals. Also, eight Annexes are attached to the Decree, as per Council Directive 64/432/EEC.
