Abstract Aim of the present Decree is to adopt the Greek legislative framework to the provisions of Directives 98/25/EC and 98/42/EC. Both texts amend Council Directive 95/21/EC as regards port State control of international standards for ship safety, pollution prevention and shipboard living and working conditions. Under this light, the present Decree sets forth the following amendments to Presidential Decree No. 88/1997: a) in article 2, the text of point (h), paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 shall be replaced b) the new article 9a “Procedure applicable in the absence of ISM certificates” shall be inserted c) in article 5, paragraph 2 shall be replaced; d) the Annexes (I, II, III, IV and VI) attached to article 18 shall be replaced.
