The Regulations, among other things, make provision in relation to the registration of slaughterhouses and producers and for appeal against decisions regarding registration. They make the failure to comply with the provisions of Council Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007 establishing a common organisation of agricultural markets and on specific provisions for certain agricultural products and Commission Regulation (EC) No 543/2008 (mentioned in Schedule 1) an offence. A compliance notice may be issued in respect of offences committed under these Regulations and European poultrymeat provisions set out in the Schedule.
