The main objective of the Law is the introduction and implementation of Community measures aimed at enhancing the security of ships used in international trade and domestic shipping and associated port facilities in the face of threats of intentional unlawful acts. The text consists of 28 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Averting of threat in port installations (II); Averting of threat in ports (III); Safety inspections and data protection provisions (IV); Final provisions (V).
