Abstract

This Regulation, divided into 21 sections, sets definitions and makes provisions for the usage of weed eliminators. Section (1) gives definitions and lists the names of chemical preparations used as weed pesticides. Section (2) prohibits a person to operate as a weed eliminator unless he has obtained a license from the director of the Plant Protection Department. Section (2) to (3) deal with license request formalities and taxes. Section (5) to (9) deal with air-spreading of weed pesticides: air-spreading requires a written permit from the director; the request for a permit must be delivered at least four days before spreading schedule and permit taxes must be paid; permits validity shall not exceed 30 days. Section (10) provides for an insurance policy for the operator, which will guarantee coverage for damage caused to others during disinfection. Section (11) lists air-spreading operational restrictions. Section (12) prohibits air-spreading if the operation might damage adjacent fields. Sections (13) to (16) deal with the request of authorizations for the usage of special substances listed in section (13). Section (17) defines the power of the director regarding the issuance of licenses, permits and authorizations, their refusal or cancellation. Section (18) obliges the operator to carry the license, permit or authorization with him for inspection purposes, during all pesticide operations. Section (19) provides for the registering of weed pesticides that have been sold by a seller. Once every month the seller shall deliver all the buying permits that have been left by the buyers to the director. Sections (20) and (21) report generic information.
