Abstract

The present Ordinance enforces article 6 of the Plant Protection Act 2011 (BGBl. I No. 10/2011). Article 1 establishes that for the sale of pesticides sufficient qualified personnel must be available for customers to give appropriate information on the use of pesticides in view of human health and threats to the environment. Moreover, pesticides may be sold only to persons in possession of an authorization to do so. The text – consisting of 16 articles – deals with the following aspects: vocational training, authorizations, register, plant protection products register, duty to notify, labelling, packaging, duty to release information, inspection, entry into force and transitional provisions.
