The objects of the quarantine are: (a) to prevent the introduction of cucumber green mottle mosaic into the pest quarantine area; and (b) to prevent the spread of cucumber green mottle mosaic in the pest quarantine area; and (c) to control or remove cucumber green mottle mosaic in or from the pest quarantine area. It specifies the following obligations: restriction on moving restricted item within or out of pest quarantine area; obligation to keep documents relating to movement of plant of the family Cucurbitaceae; obligation of land owner to allow surveillance.
