Abstract

These Rules make provision with respect to a public local inquiry to be held for the purpose of the section 231(1) of the Planning Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 regarding exercise of any of the functions of the Department of the Environment under that Act. The Rules provide for the procedures to be followed in connection with inquiries where the Secretary of State or the Department of Justice has issued a certificate under section 235 of the 2011 Act and where the Secretary of State or Department of Justice has directed that evidence described in a direction shall only be heard or be open to inspection at that inquiry by persons specified in the direction.
