Abstract

The Act regulates petroleum activities and prohibits to carry out any any designated petroleum activity or established petroleum activity without a permit. The Act provides definitions for designated and established petroleum activities, conditions attaching to petroleum authorizations and other matters. Furthermore the Act confers functions on the Commission for Energy Regulation in respect of the regulation of certain petroleum activities of petroleum undertakings with regard to safety.
