Abstract

This Regulation is made under the Mines and Minerals Act to encourage companies to invest in the development of new Alberta petrochemical facilities. In particular, the Regulation authorizes the Minister of Energy to establish royalty credits for the consumption of methane or propane, and permit approved petrochemical facilities to trade their earned credits with oil or natural gas producers to reduce their royalty payments. The text consists of 10 sections.
