Abstract

Based on the provisions of the Montenegrin Law on food safety, this Programme for monitoring pesticide residues in food of plant and animal origin for the year 2022 determines the conditions and manner of conducting monitoring (monitoring performers, sampling priorities, number of samples and laboratory tests), control methods, conditions, manner and methods of taking and storing samples, keeping records of samples and methods of laboratory tests, all aimed for monitoring pesticide residue levels. The Programme is implemented in order to assess the threat to the health of the population. This text transposes the requirements provided in the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/601 of 13 April 2021 concerning a coordinated multiannual control programme of the Union for 2022, 2023 and 2024 to ensure compliance with maximum residue levels of pesticides and to assess the consumer exposure to pesticide residues in and on food of plant and animal origin.
