In compliance with the ongoing regulatory review initiative, this Regulation must be reviewed on or before June 30, 2015 and not less frequently than every 5 years after that date Abstract This Regulation concerns the use of pesticides in the territory of Alberta. The use and application of classified pesticides is subject to licensing and the Regulation spells out the requirements and procedures for obtaining an applicator certificate (sect. 4). A certificate is also required for aerial application of pesticides (sect. 5). A special use approval can be obtained for applying pesticides on or in the vicinity of water bodies (sect. 9). Records of the use of pesticides must be created and updated and the Regulation specifies which information must be included in the records (sects. 11-13). Also the sale of pesticides is controlled under this Regulation and records of sales must be kept and updated. All information related to pesticides sales and uses are accessible by the Director.
