For the purpose of ensuring that this Regulation is reviewed, this Regulation expires on 1 April 2016.
Abstract

The present Regulation is enacted under Part 3 of the Oil and Gas Conservation Act which establishes that the Abandonment Fund is continued as the Orphan Fund. In particular, the Regulation establishes the Alberta Oil and Gas Orphan Abandonment and Reclamation Association incorporated. The purposes of the Fund are, inter alia to pay for suspension costs, abandonment costs and related reclamation costs in respect of orphan wells, facilities, facility sites and well sites where the work is carried out by the Board.
