Abstract

A Regulation to make further provision with respect to various matters relative to charges imposed pursuant to provisions of the Water Act of 1983. Article 1 concerns charges to be paid by permit holders pursuant to a verdict or decision made under Chapter 10 of the Act. Article 2 provides for payment of charges for permits for water projects and general fishing charges payable under section 6 of Chapter 10. Article 4 provides for use of charge funds for payment of compensation of damage caused by a water project or costs for reduction of such damage, whereas article 8 concerns the use of charge funds for public purposes such as development of regions affected by water projects. The National Board of Fisheries, or on the authority of the Board the Regional Fishery Commission, shall decide on the utilisation of fishing charge funds. Fishing charges paid under section 6 of Chapter 10 shall be used for research and development of fisheries management in accordance with article 11. (11 articles)
