Abstract

This Ordinance is designed in 4 Articles and enacts a regional program in the province of Upper Austria for the protection of deep groundwaters for the use of drinking water. The text provides for dedication of the groundwater in the region for drinking water use through community supply structure. The text further refers to implementation of relevant provisions in the Water Rights Act for sustainable use of water, protection of surface layers, and requirement for no mixing of water from different groundwater levels. The Ordinance contains various Annexes that defines the boundary of the dedicated areas.
