The aim of the general promotion of private forests is that the forest owners should be in a position to use for themselves the economic potential of their forests. Moreover, they should be encouraged to form forestry associations in order to improve the cultivation of forestry land. The general promotion is rendered by the forestry service of Hessen and consists of: 1) advisory service concerning forestry issues through conferences and courses; 2) vocational training of forest officers; information on the state of the wood market; 3) making available necessary financial means; 4) giving general information on forestry proceedings; 5) giving continuous help to associations concerned.
