Abstract

This Order, based on the provisions of the Croatian Plant health Law, prescribes necessary measures aimed to prevent the spread and to control the harmful organism called the black araucaria aphid - Lindingaspis rossi (Maskell). Main plants considered as host plants to black aphids, in the sense of this text, are: olive (Olea europaea L.), vine (Vitis vinifera L.), citrus fruits (Citrus spp.), pomegranate (Punica granatum L.), fig ( Ficus carica L.), Canary palm (Phoenix canariensis Chabaud) and Jelly palm (Butia capitata (Mart.) Becc.). Other host plants for black aphids are: ivy (Hedera helix L.), oleander (Nerium oleander L.), araucaria (Araucaria spp.), kurika (Euonymus japonicus Thunb.), acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia L.), laurel (Laurus nobilis L.), ficus (Ficus spp.), and viburnum (Ligustrum vulgare L.). Also as other or different host plants are to be considered all other wild plants and ornamental plants on which the black shield aphid is detected within the monitoring programme from article 5 of this Order. Basic measures to prevent the spread and control of black aphids are listed in article 4. Inspection supervision is regulated in article 7; related costs and financing are determined in article 8. The Annex is also part of this publication (statement sheet sample as specified in article 4).
