Abstract

This Order validates the Regulation on the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Stavropol Botanical Garden named after V.V. Skripchinsky (located in Stavropol region) as protected natural area of federal significance, defines tasks, scientific profile, the particulars of legal status, organizational structure, applicable special protection regime as protected natural area of federal significance. The main purpose of the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Stavropol Botanical Garden named after VV Skripchinsky shall be performance of fundamental, exploratory and applied scientific research in the field of botany, ecology, forestry, nature conservation. Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "Stavropol Botanical Garden named after V.V. Skripchinsky shall perform the following tasks: (a) study of adaptive strategies, phytocenotic, ecological and chorological features of the vegetation cover of Stavropol region; (b) development of theoretical foundations and methods for preserving plant gene pool; (c) introduction of rare and economically valuable plant species in botanical gardens of Northern Caucasus; (d) development of effective methods for the introduction and selection of decorative plants in the climate of Northern Caucasus; (e) creation of special collections of plants in order to preserve biodiversity and enrichment of flora, preservation of natural environment and natural landscapes, preservation of the unique steppe massif of Stavropol steppes; (f) development of methods for environmental education; (g) popularization and propaganda of bioecological knowledge; (h) promoting the development of dendrolandscape and phytodesigner culture, medicinal and other plant growing in the region; (i) preservation in artificial conditions of collections of living plants (especially rare and endangered species) and other botanical species of great scientific, educational, economic and cultural value; (j) research; and (k) conducting educational, pedagogical and scientific work in the fields of botany and nature protection, plant growing and selection, decorative gardening and landscape architecture.
