Abstract

This Order applies to private and public laboratories carrying out laboratory studies, including susceptibility testing for the detection of infectious animal diseases, zoonoses or zoonotic pathogens in animals or material derived from animals. Said laboratories must be approved through tests or groups of tests accredited in accordance with European standard EN ISO/IEC 17025 or accredited by an accreditation body that is signatory to the "European Co-operation for Accreditation's" Multilateral Agreement on mutual recognition. The Order does not apply to veterinarians engaged exclusively in studies of samples from animals in herds associated with the veterinarian's own practice. Approved laboratories by Order No. 1384 of 28 December 2000 concerning the authorization and supervision of diagnostic laboratories, must be accredited prior to 1 June 2017.
