Abstract

This Order validates the Regulation on the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Perkal dendrological park (Ecological and botanical station "Pyatigorsk") subordinated to Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution Botanical Institute named after V.L. Komarov of the Russian Academy of Sciences (located in Stavropol region) defines tasks, scientific profile, legal status, organizational structure and applicable protection regime. The institution manages Dendrological Park, performs measures for the protection and maintenance of the territory occupied by Dendrological Park, including conservation activities and replenishment of collections of living plants and other botanical species. Scientific profile of the institution shall be dendrological. The main purpose of the Dendrological Park is formation of special collections of plants in order to preserve flora and its diversity, carrying out fundamental research and applied development in the following fields: botany, ecology, forestry, nature protection. The main tasks of the Dendrological Park shall be as follows: (a) development of scientific foundations and methods for preserving and protecting the gene pool of plants of natural and cultural flora, introduction and acclimatization of plants; (b) study of the flora of the North Caucasus, especially the Caucasian region of Mineral Waters; (c) creation and preservation in artificial conditions of collections of living plants (especially rare and endangered species) and other botanical objects of great scientific, educational, economic and cultural importance, and also exhibitions in order to preserve biodiversity and enrich flora; and (d) conducting educational, pedagogical and scientific work in dendrology, botany and nature protection, ecology, plant growing and breeding, ornamental gardening and landscape architecture.
