Entry into force on 5 June 2000.
Abstract

The Order applies to the approval of plant production of genetically modified microorganisms and notification thereof. Production of genetically modified organisms is classified in 4 sections listed in Appendix 3 and is approved by the Forest and Nature Agency. At each start of any production, an assessment of the environmental nature and health risks in Appendix 2 and Appendix 6 shall take place. The risk assessment must lead to classification in one of those listed in Appendix 3 and general principles and appropriate protection measures for each containment level shall be set out as in Appendix 4. Applications for approval of plant productions shall be subject to a tax. This levy shall cover costs of the process and shall not exceed DKK 100 000. Decisions on this tax shall be taken by the municipality council of Copenhagen and Frederiksberg and shall be submitted to the Forest and Nature Agency.
