Abstract This Order is regulated by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and provides regulations for the surveillance of salmonellosis and Salmonella (including Salmonella Dublin) in cattle and all animals other than pigs and poultry. It covers primary production, monitoring, slaughtering and related treatment of pig and poultry meat. The provisions of the document include slaughtering, sample testing, and study provisions applicable to meat destined to human consumption. Research and inspection shall be performed in DANAK- and EA- accredited testing laboratories. In Chapter 2 (Salmonella affecting cattle) livestock suspected of being affected by salmonellosis, shall be subject to veterinarian inspection. Denmark is divided into Salmonella Dublin high (Chapter 5) and low-prevalent (Chapter 6) areas (Chapter 5) listed in Appendix 4; cattle thereafter classified in 1 and 2 Salmonella Dublin-levels shall be destined to slaughtering. Animals may be moved to Natura2000 sites if under nature-conservation agreements established prior to 15 July 2013 (article 16).
