The required license for these activities are issued by the Minister of Industry and the criteria for granting such permission is based on the vessel’s fishing capacity. The same Ministry may decide suspension of fishing activities by announcement via radio and transmission by telex or facsimile to the vessels. To EU registered vessels the notification is given to the EU Commission and for non-Greenlandic vessels it shall be given to their respective country’s fishing authorities.
