Abstract The Order sets regulations concerning the monitoring and control of exotic (Appendix 2, part I), non-exotic (Appendix 2, Part II) and new diseases in aquatic organisms. The Order’s purpose is to monitor and record any findings related to the spread of diseases from fish and fish products. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration – through the Ministry of Environment and Food - may classify the Danish territories and farms for health status – from categories I-V according to Appendix 1 guidelines and for the non-exotic diseases listed in Appendix 2, Part II. All farms in aquaculture zones must have achieved a particular health status, and an overview of Denmark classification is published on the Food Authority's website (www.fvst.dk) and in the Central Animal Use Register.
