Abstract The Order applies to the fishing methods by net/mesh in Greenland fishing territory and their sizing. Mesh sizes apply to trawls in order to reduce wear to increase gear strength. Fishing is not permitted between the coast and the line located 3 miles. Scallop-fishing by vessels heavier than 75BRT is not permitted. Fishing with trawl for cod, redfish, halibut, and catfish is prohibited for all vessels. Cod-fishing with trawl is permitted in Qaqortoq and in depths larger than 200 meters and by vessels of less than 50 BRT. Trawling is not permitted in Eastern Greenlandic Coast as specified in article 6 and explosives, poisonous or anaesthetic substances and guns may not be used for fishing.
