Regulations 2007 and provide for the devolution to the Scottish Ministers of certain of the Secretary of State’s marine nature conservation functions in the Scottish offshore region pursuant to the enactment of the Planning Act 2008 and the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The amendments concern, among other things, powers on site selection, giving of directions and guidance to the competent authority, consultation with other Member States on management of adjoining sites and control of activities in the Scottish offshore region.
