Abstract

There are hereby established the general principles applicable to the performance of official control of foodstuffs. These Rules shall apply without any prejudice to more specific Community provisions. However, they shall not apply to metrological control. As a general rule, inspections shall be carried out on a regular basis, where non-compliance is suspected, and without prior warning. All stages of production, manufacture, import into the Community, processing, storage, transport, distribution and trade shall be covered.
