Abstract This Notification lays down rules for the organizational structure and working principles of forest conservation team, investigation procedures of forest crimes, sanctions, and duties, powers and responsibilities of forest officers. Forest crimes include illegal logging, illegal harvesting, encroachment, illegal hunting, forest fires, overexploitation, establishment of facilities without permission, and other activities that are incompatible with sustainable forest management. Moreover, this Notification covers sanctions including search, seizure and detention, administrative fine, and compensation.
