Abstract This Normative Instruction, composed of 48 articles, establishes licensing procedures applicable to those hydroelectric plants (UHE) and small electricity plants (PCH) that are considered of significant environmental impact. To this end, the Normative instruction institutes a dedicated unit (UHE/PCH) within the Federal Environmental licensing Informatic System – SISLIC. The Normative Instruction regulates the four constituting elements of the SISLIC: process set-up; previous licensing, installation licensing; operation licensing. Finally, it rules on the procedures necessary for requesting the license and the technical conditions required for the issuing.
