This Norm enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Norm, consisting of 26 articles and 9 Annexes, regulates the scientific research to be carried out within the State Conservation Units. The Department of the Environment of Rio Grande do Sul State (SEMA) encourage and may provide the means for the implementation of scientific research activities in protected areas to manage the community wildlife. It establishes that scientific research activities should not cause damage to the preserved natural heritage and require the prior approval of their projects and a Research authorization in protected areas, provided in accordance with the rules of this Instruction and current environmental legislation. The issuing of these Research authorizations will be under the responsibility of the governing body of the Conservation Units, Department of Forests and Protected Areas (DEFAP).
