Abstract

The National Framework on Forest Measures for Rural Development was adopted in implementation of Regulation (EU) No. 1305/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on support for rural development by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD). It covers the period from 2014 to 2020 and aims to ensure efficiency of interventions in the forestry sector and monitor rural development. The document specifies the actions to be undertaken in forest areas for ensuring the efficient and sustainable development of rural areas and lands. The document aims to enable more inclusive and efficient systems in the forestry and agro-forestry sector. Incentives are foreseen for businesses and enterprises in this sector. Cooperatives and producers’ organizations are promoted.
