A person who imports, exports, transits or re-imports waste shall observe all legislation applying to such waste, but no waste may be imported from a developed country (members of the OECD, EU or Liechtenstein). Consent for the transboundary movement of waste shall be obtained from the Department responsible for environmental affairs. Importers and exporters shall keep specified records. Transboundary movement of waste shall be notified to the Department.
