Abstract

These Regulations are made under the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency Act, with the aim of controlling the effective use of all Nigerian dams and reservoirs and their impact on the environment and human health; reducing and minimizing hazards, disaster, pollution and impacts on water quality; promoting best management practices to prevent or limit flooding and water shortage; strengthening socio-economic and environmental functions of water systems.
