Abstract

This Act provides for the establishment of the National Environment Protection Council, which shall make national environment protection measures and to protect from air, water or soil pollution and from noise. The national environment protection measures may concern inter alia: (a) ambient air quality, (b) ambient marine, estuarine and freshwater quality; (c) general guidelines for the assessment of site contamination; (e) environmental impacts associated with hazardous wastes; (f) re-use and recycling of used materials.
