Abstract

These Regulations prohibit, in the framework of mussel seed management and conservation: (a) fishing for or attempting to fish for mussel seed or permitting another person to fish for or attempt to fish for mussel seed within parts of the exclusive fishery limits of the State as described in the Schedule to these Regulations; and (b) buying, handling, weighing, transhipping, transporting, landing, processing, storing or selling of mussel seed that has been caught or harvested in contravention these Regulations. The prohibition, consequential to closure of the specified areas for mussel fishing is imposed for purposes of conserving mussel stock and protecting the environment.
