Abstract

This Act provides for the implementation of an agreement between the Commonwealth, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia with regard to the water, land and environment of the Murry-Darling Basin. It consists of 17 sections and is divided into four Parts. Part 2 concerns the appointment of commissioners under the Act, their terms of appointment and remuneration. Part 3 concerns the functions and powers of the Murry-Darling Basin Commission and Part 4 contains general provisions. The Act is completed by one schedule that contains the text of the Murry-Darling Basin Agreement.
