Abstract As Greece has joint the European Union in 1981, this Decree of 1984 aims at aligning the existing Greek legislative framework regarding controls on animal feedstuffs with European Union legislation regarding this subject. It provides for the establishment of official controls on animal feedstuffs, the methods and procedures for implementing such controls, the competent authorities and their duties. Article 1 lays down the specific Directives which the Greek legislation shall comply with. The competent authority for controlling the terms of preparation and placing in the market of animal feedstuffs is set out in article 2. The competent authorities for the control on animal feedstuffs are established in article 3. Articles 4 and 5 deal with sampling methods and duties of controlling officers. Articles 6 to 9 establish the sampling procedure. Article 10 lays down the Directives applying for the sampling methods. Article 12 establishes sanctions. (12 articles).
