Abstract This Decree seeks to prevent spreading of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) by prohibiting importation of hazardous animal tissues such as: (1) brain; (2) spinal cord; (3) eyes; (4) sweetbread; (5) milt; (6) lymphatic and nervous tissue; (7) intestines of bovine animals; (8) intestines of ovine and (9) caprine animals which are aged over 6 months.
