This Decree is composed of 5 articles.Article 1 authorizes the cultivation of rice in the provinces described in the statements annexed with the total area authorized which is of 1076917 acres. Article 2 states that committees are formed from the central departments of water resources and irrigation in the the governorates designated to prepare areas for rice cultivation. Article 3 sets forth penalties for rice cultivation in non authorized areas according to Law No. 12 of 1984 on Irrigation and Drainage, and in cases of exploitation of water in excess the penalties according to article 53 from law No.14717 of 1987 are applied.
